Better Housing Better Health (BHBH) is a not-for-profit service run by the National Energy Foundation, working to help residents living in or at risk of living in fuel poverty to access advice and support. In a preventative approach to health and wellbeing the free to use helpline provides residents with a single point of contact for advice, grants and other local services in order to help improve the energy efficiency of their property to help keep them warm and well at home.
Residents who call the helpline can have their needs assessed over the phone and, where eligible, can be referred for:
- Free impartial advice
- Energy bill discounts
- Grants and funding for energy efficiency measures such as insulation or new heating systems and access to other support services
