Birches Head Get Growing aim to grow a community spirit by offering a range of activities and support free at the point of delivery. Our organisation is run totally by volunteers and our motto is “Everything we do is free, kindness is our currency”.
We aim to reduce food waste and empower people to become more self sufficient. We believe that there is no shame in sharing and so offer people who may otherwise struggle in accepting help a number of ways to pay back to our community including, swapping items, giving their time and paying it forward through further acts of kindness.
We have a range of drop in sessions throughout the week:
Tuesdays & Thursdays – Fair Share Free Shop and Breakfast Club
Wednesdays – Potter & Natter Friendship Group
Fridays – Kiddies Club
Sunday – Growers Group at our allotment
On the last Saturday of the month we hold a Free Shop Swap Shop Community Exchange where everything is free, preventing waste and supporting our community.
