Stoke-on-Trent South U3A

Stoke-on-Trent South U3A is a registered charity with over 400 members which offers a wide range of group activities to people who are no longer in full-time employment.

U3A is an abbreviation of ‘University of the Third Age’, but there is absolutely no formal teaching and and NO exams and we have recently adopted the motto “Learn, Laugh and Live !” which sums up our ethos. There’s a strong social aspect of all our groups

Based in Longton, most of our groups meet at Methodist Central Hall in The Strand. We offer educational groups such as family history and local history, indoor and outdoor sports such as table-tennis, bowls and kurling and others such as a ukelele group, art lovers, line dancing, a walking group and flower arranging. An up-to-date group list can be found on our Internet site.

Membership of our U3A costs only £10 per year and members may attend any groups they wish : members contribute £1 at each meeting to help cover room hire and there’s an open meeting every month with light refreshments when there is normally a speaker or entertainment.

Full details of our groups and membership application forms can be found on our Internet site.
