Centre for Children with Special Needs

Children visit us for one or two Education, Care and Development sessions each week. where our children make rapid progress towards learning, life skills and independence. Additionally, we have developed a successful support system for parents and carers to help them through this very difficult period. We run courses for parents/carers to learn and practice skills which will be instrumental to their child’s future development. Courses organised at the request of parents might include topics such as MAKATON signing, Positive Parenting, Baby Massage and First Aid. Families also benefit from vital respite time and social activities. We also help families to choose, visit and secure school places for their children.

Our children have a wide range of disabilities, conditions and syndromes, such as Cerebral Palsy, Down’s syndrome, autism spectrum condition, visual and hearing impairments, physical delays and communication delays. For some children, their session at our Centre may be the only interaction they have with their peers each week. Our Early Years team of eight staff are highly trained and experienced with a combined 80 years of experience supporting children with special educational needs.
